Approachable Hot Peppers

Aji Ayuyo
An incredibly beautiful and colorful pepper. This pepper ripens from a dark purple to light purple then to a light orange then finally turns to a bright red. This pepper is a slow ripening pepper. The pods are grape shaped and about one inch long. This pepper is very thick and dense, this causes the compact plants to need some support. The foliage on this plant is green. A very tasty pepper with lots of sweetness and hints of fruitiness. a great pepper for pickling, making salsa, or eating raw. This pepper has a mild spiciness level of about one thousand Scoville units.

Arapaho
No more waiting for the sweet-spicy flavor of a high-quality cayenne! Arapaho ripens well before other cayennes and delivers 8–9 inch long, wrinkled fruit that starts out green and ripens to brilliant red. The compact, vigorous plants are high yielding and provide excellent leaf cover to protect the fruit against sunscald.

Berry Amarillo
he round pods are yellow and are about one inch long with a pinched tip. This pepper ripens from a green to a yellow color then to a yellow orange when left on the plant for a long time. A slow ripening pepper. The foliage on this plant is green. A very tasty pepper with a sweet taste and a hint of fruitiness and citrus. This sweet pepper is mild with a little heat, about one thousand Scoville heat units.

Chocolate Habanero
This is a chocolate version of a habanero. This pepper is a little hotter than a typical orange habanero. The pods are bright brown and are about two inches long. This pepper ripens from a green to a light brown color then finally to a deep brown. This plant may need support. The foliage on this plant is green. A very tasty pepper with hint of smokiness, sweetness, and plum. This pepper has a hot spiciness level of about 300,000 - 400,000 Scoville units.

Giant Black Habanero
This is an exceptionally large almost black habanero pepper with stunning good looks and lots of flavor. The pods are deep brown and are about two to four inches long. This pepper ripens from a dark green to a dark chocolate color. When left on the plant for a long time the pods get a slight red hue to them. The pods are an elongated large lantern or cone shaped. This 2-4-foot-tall plant produces a lot of heavy pods and will need support. The foliage on this plant is green. A very tasty thick-walled pepper with hints of smokiness, sweetness, and plum. This pepper has a hot spiciness level of about 400,000 - 500,000 Scoville units.

The Lemon Spice Yellow Jalapeno is the same size as the traditional Early Jalapeno, but it ripens to a beautiful yellow color. Many people think of the Jalapeno as a very spicy hot pepper, but the Jalapeno pepper has only a mild to moderate heat level as it averages about 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Lemon Spice Yellow Jalapenos have the perfect amount of heat for those that like a little kick, but don’t want overbearing heat. Sureno (serano)
We’ve been searching for an outstanding serrano-type pepper, and found it in Sureño. If jalapeños aren’t quite spicy enough for you, this tasty pepper is definitely the way to go. The elongated deep green fruit ripen to red at maturity and will reach ½ inch wide and nearly 4 inches long from the top to the blunt tip. Sureño plants are especially robust and produce heavy yields

Tabasco Specialty Cross
This beautiful large plant produces a huge bounty of colorful edible peppers. This pepper is a cross of Tobasco pepper, a Naga pepper, and a pink tiger cross pepper. The pods are about one to two inches long, and cone shaped. This pepper ripens from purple to a light green then a lemon yellow then to light orange and finally to a dark red. The foliage on this plant is greenish purple with purple stems and some of the peppers will show hints of purple on the calyx. This pepper can get up to four feet tall and is just as wide. Large plants can produce hundreds of peppers. A very tasty pepper, with hints of fruitiness, sweetness and floral. This pepper has a hot spiciness level of about 100,000 Scoville units.
